On November 23, JJLA founder Jeffrey Consoletti married his longtime partner, Robert Czechowicz, at the Bougainvillea Estate in Indio. Consoletti planned, produced, and designed the three-day affair himself; the weekend kicked off on Friday with a 200-guest 'Roasts & Toasts' comedy show and dinner, and ended on Sunday with a 'Bikinis & Martinis' recovery-theme event. The main ceremony and decor-heavy reception on Saturday had 280 guests and a performance by pop star Betty Who. Additional vendors included florals from Bold Blossoms, catering from A Dash & a Handful, lighting by Ultimate Lighting, and special effects from Pyro Spectaculars.

Mirrored Media produced two buzzy Christmas tree lightings this week. First up was The Americana at Brand's annual Christmas show (pictured), held on November 14. The Nutcracker-inspired event was sponsored by Keck Medicine of USC and hosted by Ava Michelle, and drew nearly 20,000 people. And on November 17 was Christmas at the Grove, hosted by Leslie Odom Jr. with guests Ashley Tisdale, Kate Beckinsale, and Kate Mara. Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti was also on hand, alongside more than 32,000 attendees.

Opening in December is the first U.S. edition of Dumpling & Associates, a 90-day pop-up experience by artist collective ZJZM. The 5,500-square-foot, 14-room art exhibition will feature 'dumpling-theme installations that merge tradition, culture, design, optimism, and inclusivity,' according to press materials. It opens on December 3 at Row DTLA; early bird tickets are now on sale for $25.

On October 15, Billboard Latin's AMA's Fest celebrated top Latin music executives at Neuehouse Hollywood, where a geometric, eye-catching stage hosted performances by Dalex and Feid. The event was designed and produced by Shiraz Creative, with fabrication by Stoelt Productions, furniture by FormDecor, and florals by Of the Flowers. 'The stage elements were a bit challenging [because] daytime panel discussions used the video screen for sessions,' explained Stoelt Productions' Matt Stoelt. 'We pre-hung everything the night before and early in the morning, and then we took it all down until the two-hour changeover later that afternoon.'

Independent research and treatment center City of Hope raised $4 million at its gala on October 10. Held at Barker Hangar, the event honored Epic Records C.E.O. Sylvia Rhone and featured a duet from Alicia Keys and Sara Bareilles, plus additional performances from Yolanda Adams and En Vogue. Larger-than-life letters spelling 'HOPE,' painted by artist Hueman, welcomed guests to the event.

The 10th anniversary of the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic took place at Will Rogers State Historic Park on October 5. Drawing more than 7,500 attendees—including A-listers Julia Roberts, Kirsten Dunst, and Regina Hall—the stylish, champagne-filled event and polo match featured flower-covered photo ops, bright yellow details, and upscale food trucks and lawn games. BrownHot Events and Revelry Event Designers handled decor and production. New this year was the ultra-V.I.P. La Grande Dame Garden, which offered fieldside views and champagne bottle service for $1,900 per person.

Energy bar company Lärabar teamed up with Pandora to host a music- and wellness-focused event on September 29 at Palihouse West Hollywood. The rooftop event was intended to showcase how both music and healthy eating fuel people's lives; the gathering offered healthy snacks and yoga, meditation, and dance classes, all accompanied by a live DJ. Producer Stoelt Productions designed the rainbow-colored event, which was inspired by the different Lärabar flavors; six glass panels were covered in colorful translucent vinyl, while six custom shade sails provided sun protection for guests.

To launch its fall collection, Pandora jewelry worked with Abel McCallister Abel to paint an alley in downtown Los Angeles bright pink. Female graffiti artists, in collaboration with artist C. Finley, were tapped to paint a series of colorful wall murals; in an adjacent parking lot, guests at the August 28 launch event were welcomed by a giant, illuminated hashtag plus mirrored sculptures of the Pandora logo. An after-party took place in Hudson Loft, with catering by Patina and performances by Charli XCX and SZA.

V DTLA, an all-day eatery located below the Seven Grand Whiskey Bar downtown, opened its 5,600-square-foot venue on September 13. The stylish, European-inspired space, which takes over the historic Brock Jewelry store, includes street art, original mahogany display cases, and restored ceilings. The former jewelry vault now serves as a small dining space, and the bar is a re-creation of the original jewelry counter. The entire restaurant seats 200.

Warner Bros. Consumer Productions hosted a 50th anniversary celebration for Scooby-Doo at its Burbank lot on September 13. The family-friendly event, produced in partnership with Movement Strategy, drew 350 people and included character appearances, face painting, a mural, and fun catering such as the 'Scooby Dooby Doo' hot dog from Pink's and the 'Scooby-Doo Loophole' churro from the Loop Churros. A cake took the form of the Mystery Machine van.

The second edition of Sephora's Sephoria House of Beauty took place September 7 and 8 at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall. A mosaic wall promoted the brand's 'We Belong to Something Beautiful' campaign, which promotes diversity and inclusivity; guests were invited to paste photos of themselves on the wall. Earlier this week, Bombay Sapphire launched its 'Painted by Everyone' art installation at Row DTLA. The project invites people around the country to log onto the gin brand's website and select a color and position on the canvas; robotic technology will then add it to the physical canvas. The 'social experiment,' as the brand calls it, is part of an ongoing #FindYourCanvas initiative focused on creativity. The painting will be displayed at next week's Other Art Fair L.A., where each participant will be credited as an exhibiting artist.

To celebrate The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel's 20 Emmy nominations, Amazon Prime Video brought 1959 prices to Los Angeles on August 15. The brand offered discounts at nearly 40 locations across the city, including 30-cent gas at a Chevron in Santa Monica, $40 stays at the Hollywood Roosevelt, and 50-cent movie tickets. Overall, a whopping 10,000 gallons of gas were pumped, 4,000 items were consumed at Mel's Drive-In, and 1,350 people got blowouts at Drybar. 'There were even fans who dressed up in '50s fashions to match the prices,' said Mike Benson, head of marketing for Amazon Studios, in a press release. 'We love creating fun experiences for our customers that connect them to our series in new ways, and ‘Maisel Day’ was a great success.”

The 30,000-square-foot Weedmaps Museum of Weed opened on August 1 and runs through September 29. The photo-friendly space in Hollywood has a series of interactive rooms and exhibits aimed at upending stereotypes and stigmas, taking on topics such as racially disparate law-enforcement policies, the war on drugs under former presidents Richard Nixon and Ronald Reagan, the latest medical marijuana breakthroughs, and more. Weedmaps worked with creative agency Virtue and producers Let's Play Production on the project.

Art of Everyone turns the audience into the artist. Essentially, a 'conductor' stands behind a large canvas and begins outlining an image using a laser pointer. Participants stand on the other side of the canvas and apply paint by following the laser. The result is a high-quality work of art crowd-sourced by attendees. Art styles can range from portraits to abstract to landscapes and still lifes. Art of Everyone has appeared at events such as the World Business Forum and Content Marketing World, and has also created public activations for brands around the U.S.

The photo op-friendly space was created by experiential artist Maximillian of Ultra Productions, who has previously created brand stunts and activations such as La La Land-inspired aerial dancers at City Hall and Dodger Stadium's drone light show for the premiere of Wonder Woman.

To promote the return of Nickelodeon's All That sketch comedy series, the network opened a pop-up dining experience this week that's inspired by the old Good Burger sketch starring Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell. Open through the end of 2019, the nostalgic space—created by the same team behind the recent 'Saved by the Max' pop-up—serves food from local chef Alvin Cailan, founder of Eggslut. The pop-up, which was designed by multidisciplinary artist Floyd A. Davis IV, also has photo moments, games, merchandise, and, as fans can appreciate, plenty of orange soda.

Opened in June, the Guild Hotel in downtown San Diego is part of Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio. Originally an Army-Navy YMCA, the eight-floor, 162-room boutique hotel retains its original façade. There are five distinct venues: the Grace Ballroom at 3,500 square feet with room for 300 seated guests; Society Ballroom, a 3,870-square-foot-space that seats 300; the Council Room, a 510-square-foot conference room designed for 20 seated guests; the Garden Terrace, a 4,200-square-foot outdoor space that accommodates 400 guests; and the Society Lounge, a velvet draped 425-square-foot area with room for 30.

Post 43, an American Legion space originally built in 1919, is slated to reopen this summer after a $6 million renovation. While the historic venue still aims to support the veteran community, it now doubles as an event space. The highlight is a 6,000-square-foot theater that seats 484; the first five rows are removable. Other spaces include a two-story rotunda that seats 30 or holds 80 for receptions, a trophy room that seats 25 or holds 40 for receptions, and a meeting room that seats 28 or holds 60 for receptions and has an 85-inch flatscreen TV. The venue also has a full commercial kitchen, plus parking for 125 cars. Phase one of the renovation is slated to open in July; two additional phases will renovate the basement and second story, adding additional event space.

To promote its new spicy chicken strips, Jack in the Box teamed up with Bustle to host Jack's House of Crunch, a pop-up open to the public May 31-June 1. The art gallery-inspired space had a sculpture of a chicken strip in dipping sauce, plus a photo-friendly pit of foam chicken strips, fragrances inspired by dipping sauces, and an ASMR experience. The pop-up was intended to emphasize 'all the senses, from the spice, smell, and more,' according to Sheena Dougher, director of customer experience and marketing communications for Jack in the Box and Liz Culley, sales director for Bustle. “[It] delivered this unique experience to each guest that walked through the door in true Jack style that was bold, cheeky, fun and interactive.' Carat, ENTER, and Cashmere also worked on the event, and Schaffer created food options that infused the spicy chicken strips.
