As the weather turns cooler in Orlando, outdoor activities can be an attractive option for groups. These two companies offer a variety of back-to-nature excursions for teambuilding and entertainment.
1. Maui B’s Stand Up Paddle Boarding provides paddleboard rentals, lessons, and trips on lakes and rivers around Central Florida. In August, the company added paddleboard yoga and fitness classes to its menu. The one-hour fitness and yoga classes, $25 per person, are taught in the morning or evening, while the lessons and tours can be scheduled throughout the day by the hour. The company provides one instructor for every five participants, for groups of as many as 20 at a time.
2. Grande Lakes Outfitters conducts canoeing and kayaking trips on Shingle Creek, the headwaters of the Florida Everglades. The company is based out of the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes. Groups can also sign up for fly-fishing instruction and excursions on the 90-acre Shingle Pond, with a chance to reel in largemouth bass. The guided canoeing and kayaking trips can accommodate 20 people at a time, and start at $60 for the first person and $40 for each additional person. Fishing trips are available for groups of 10. The three-hour seminars cost $180 for the first adult and $100 for each additional participant. All equipment is provided.
