New + Next: The Palm Beaches

The Palm Beaches in Florida are booming. Event profs, take note of what’s new, refreshed and coming soon.

1) NEW Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa

In March, the 309-room hotel’s outdoor Breeze Ocean Kitchen (available for buyouts) opened debuting a menu of Floridian flavors and a top-to-bottom renovation including cheerful Jonathan Adler design elements. It holds 150 seated or 250 standing. A new GPS-controlled slat roofing system adjusts to keep out the area’s notorious afternoon showers.

2) NEXT Hyatt Place Boca Raton

Boca Raton’s first downtown hotel is set to open this fall. The 200-room, 13-story hotel has an 8,000-sq.-ft. restaurant and 4,000 square feet of meeting space, and is only a short walk or drive to larger conference center spaces.

3) NEW Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center

In February, this 16,000-sq.-ft. educational attraction opened its doors in West Palm Beach. Free for all guests, it makes for a budget-friendly outing for groups. Attendees can gather on the observation deck to watch endangered manatee herds in their natural habitat.

4) NEXT The Regional Kitchen & Public House

Season nine “Top Chef” finalist Lindsay Autry, who came up in culinary under the tutelage of Michelle Bernstein, is set to open this spot in CityPlace this fall. Rumor has it American cuisine fueled by local and seasonal ingredients will be the focus.
