Rob Dyrdek, MTV reality show personality and action sports figure, successfully performed a kick flip in the new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic at Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday. The stunt, a 360-degree rotation in mid-air, is more commonly executed on a skateboard, not a car, and was meant to promote the vehicle and its high safety rating.
The car comes with 10 standard air bags, which Chevy supplemented with racing seats and seat belts, plus a roll cage, for the event. Dyrdek performed the feat before a crowd at the theme park while MTV filmed it for the Season 5 premiere of its show, Fantasy Factory. Dyrdek executed the kick flip over what's billed as the world’s-largest skateboard, which he created for a previous stunt.
