To promote its newly redesigned website, Cheapflights.ca staged a public stunt on Queen Street West in Toronto on May 23. Staffers in branded T-shirts doled out 10,000 loonies (Canadian dollar coins) to passersby, who used the coins to play a game inspired by Plinko an eight-foot-high board. After climbing to the top of the structure, players dropped the coins down to have them land in one of three sections. Each section was labeled with a prize that participants would then have a chance of winning. The prizes included a three-night stay in a North American city, a five-night stay in the Caribbean, or a seven-night stay in Europe. According to event organizers, "the prizing itself was a huge draw" that caught consumers' attention. The Mint Agency produced the event.
