Garish, colorful decor and greasy, juvenile food—those are some of details that people might imagine when they consider the phrase “kid-friendly event.” But a bash that’s suited for children can also be sophisticated and appealing to grownup guests’ eyes and palates, as evidenced by the launch of the summer collection from preppy kids’ retailer Janie and Jack. Jeremiah Brent, star of the new TLC show Married to Design: Nate & Jeremiah, hosted the event on June 18 at the London West Hollywood hotel in Los Angeles.
"When throwing our summer celebration, we took the same approach we take as a brand,” said Janie and Jack general manager Shelly Walsh. “We are classically modern and every detail is well considered. We brought the party to life in the same manner, from flower crowns to watercolor portraits, the lemon accents and bold stripes throughout.”
Lisette Sand-Freedman, principal at Shadow PR, which conceptualized and helped plan the event, added, “We set out to create an experiential event that represented the essence of the brand. Jeremiah Brent and his daughter Poppy were the perfect co-hosts, who resonated with both the fashion community and influencer set. We were also able to leverage Janie and Jack's creative team to create the ideal activation decor that served as the perfect backdrop for celebrities and social influencers such as Cupcakes and Cashmere to create original content.”
Here are 10 ways the party remained sophisticated enough to inspire grownup influencer engagement while entertaining kids.
