American Eagle Skate the Yard

American Eagle celebrated its new “AE x Young Money” collaboration with Lil Wayne and previewed its fall 2019 campaign with an event on July 15 at the New Design High School in New York. The brand turned the rooftop of the school into a skate park, which offered skateboard lessons and a performance by Lil Wayne’s skate team. Shadow Events led the creative direction of the event, and KM Productions helmed the production, buildout, and audiovisual elements. Tats Cru and Rooftop Legends created custom graffiti.

LG Café OLED

LG partnered with the Pantone Color Institute to launch a pop-up café July 12 to 14 in New York’s SoHo neighborhood. The pop-up highlighted Pantone’s summer color palette, serving lattes inspired by the colors Pink Peacock, Tangy Turmeric, Aspen Gold, and Pepper Stem. The café also served color-coded desserts created by Amirah Kassem of Flour Shop.

LG Café OLED

Walls with digital art on OLED TVs highlighted each color in the space. The pop-up was produced and designed by G&R Live.

ESPY Awards

ESPN’s 27th annual award show took place July 10 at the Microsoft Theatre. Kilowatt Events designed the show’s red carpet, which featured a wall from sponsor Nike that asked athletes to sign cards describing why sports matter to them. The Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington’s 37th annual awards took place June 30 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The Embassy of Tunisia returned as one of the international food pavilion sponsors after debuting at last year's Rammys. All food was created by Aramark. WorldPride

New York hosted WorldPride, with events throughout the month of June. To celebrate, the intersection of Gay and Christopher streets in the West Village was renamed “Acceptance Street.” The New York City Commission on Human Rights and Mastercard partnered to unveil inclusive street signs highlighting various identities. N.Y.C. Pride March

WorldPride festivities culminated with the N.Y.C. Pride March on June 30. This year’s march had 677 contingents, which included a number of brands that had eye-catching floats, including sock and apparel brand Bombas. The brand’s debut float at the march featured a rainbow mosaic created with 4,500 actual socks. The float highlighted the brand’s partnership with the Ally Coalition and their commitment to donating socks to L.G.B.T.Q. homeless youth. Engage!19

Engage!19 took place in June, drawing 400 wedding and event industry professionals to the Baha Mar Resort in Nassau, Bahamas. At the poolside welcome party, costumed entertainers from Elan Artists performed inside open structures atop the pool, while a large screen projected psychedelic images throughout the evening.
