Anyone who has ever sat through a seemingly endless conference or meeting knows that sitting still is a mood killer. Plus, studies have shown that when you’re trying to learn something new, your brain absorbs more of it if you do it while you're exercising. That's why it’s important to incorporate movement into an event in order to help boost alertness and awareness. Brands like Equinox, Lane Eight, and even Michelob ULTRA are taking that strategy to the next level by hosting fitness-fueled events with a twist—from DJs to immersive art installations. See some heart-pumping examples below.
Equinox's Yoga Series at Hall des Lumières

Equinox is hosting a six-week yoga series in partnership with Hall des Lumières, New York City’s new permanent center for custom-designed immersive art experiences. The classes feature a 45-minute vinyasa flow class surrounded by the venue's inaugural installation, Gustav Klimt: Gold in Motion, a multi-sensory experience of the artist’s iconic work.

The classes take place every Thursday morning through Oct. 27 in the historic Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank at 49 Chambers St. Like the Equinox series, Hall des Lumieres can be booked for private events with custom projections including branded moments or a fully custom exhibit with bespoke visuals and music for an additional fee. A team of creators and technicians is available to help with the design, implementation, and management of the custom projection. The current Klimt exhibition, which runs for approximately one hour, can also run on a loop during private events.

During sun salutations and flows, guests are surrounded by glowing, animated, 30-foot-high custom displays of art images—all synchronized to an original soundtrack.

Michelob ULTRA’s Boxing Experience

In September, Michelob ULTRA brought its popular Movement Live platform to NYC for a live boxing experience. In collaboration with Rumble Boxing, the light beer brand—along with actor/singer Mack Wilds—hosted the event at The Brooklyn Mirage music venue (the outdoor summer portion of the Avant Gardner venue in East Williamsburg) with more than 350 participants. The event also featured a live performance from DJ Ruckus.

Movement Live is the brand’s wellness platform, which was founded in 2018. Last year, 500 participants took part in a cycling class on the field at Petco Park in San Diego where they were joined virtually by fitness studios from around the world.
