L.A. Live’s Club Nokia debuted last Sunday with a performance by native Angeleno Beck, who took a moment to note the massive entertainment complex had so transformed the downtown landscape, most people who grew up in the city wouldn’t be able to recognize it anymore.
Club Nokia features an interactive, high-tech lobby lined with 60 LED screens, where attendees can upload and share photos, texts, or videos with fellow concertgoers. Anyone can access content from past performances through touch or foot screens.
The 59,000-square-foot club holds 2,300, offering a comparatively more intimate space for live performances than L.A. Live’s 230,000-square-foot Nokia Theatre. The venue expects to host 150 annual performances, including upcoming shows by the B-52s and Sarah Silverman, who will take the club’s 40-by 30-foot stage this month.
Club Nokia is available for corporate events or private parties, and offers exclusive catering by Wolfgang Puck.
