To Feel Like an Oscar Winner
Tower Bar at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles. It’s a fabulous property paired with an amazing restaurant, which makes this spot a go-to for Hollywood’s A-list. I have spotted Julianne Moore, George and Amal Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Madonna, and more in the dining room. But be aware that no cellphone photos are allowed here.
For a Fabulous Night on the Town
Hakkasan at the MGM Grand Las Vegas. It is as big as Texas with 80,000 square feet, five levels, and a variety of environments and restaurants.
To Entertain Clients and Sponsors
The Super Bowl is the ultimate thank-you for your best client. The National Football League’s championship game offers tents, skyboxes, V.I.P. celebrity events, and a game with a spectacular celebrity-driven halftime show, giving clients and sponsors an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime experience.
To Get My Wine Experience On
Napa Valley, California, has it all: opulent resorts, splendid restaurants, and, of course, vino, vino, vino. One of my favorite resorts to call home after a day in the wine country is Auberge du Soleil Suites.
For Client Dinners
Fearings in Dallas. If anyone can dazzle me with their bold and splashy Southwestern cuisine, it is celebrity chef Dean Fearing. He is not only a chef, he is a guitar connoisseur, recording artist, cookbook author, and all-around nice guy who always leaves me and my clients wanting to come back for more.
To Throw an Over-the-Top Wedding
Odescalchi Castle, outside of Rome, is on the shores of Lake Bracciano. The 15th-century romantic venue is where Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise tied the knot.
To Stage a Fashion Show
New York City truly knows how to do a fashion event in a spectacular way. Some of my favorite venues for fashion shows and events include the Hammerstein Ballroom, the library of the New York City Bar Association, and the Russian Tea Room.
To Shop for Couture
Fashion inspires so much of my event design. Some of my favorite designers in Milan include Versace, Dior, and Gucci. I have always believed that when a client is hiring you for event design, you need to walk into the meeting looking like you just came off the runway and straight into their office.
To Relax on the Beach and Dance at Night
With magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean, a $50 million renovation, and a quick walk to the heart of the nightlife of South Beach, the Loews Miami Beach Hotel is my go-to hotel. If you are looking to host an event, check out the Americana Lawn; it is fabulous for a group function.
To Get Inspired
I love visiting the world’s hottest destinations, but where I get the most inspiration is simply going to lunch with a friend. Some of my favorite lunch spots include Parigi in Dallas, the Peninsula Hotel Chicago, and Bagatelle New York.
For My Ultimate Spa Experience
One of my favorites is the Ranch at Live Oak in Malibu, California. After planning back-to-back meetings and events, I love a great spa to release all of the toxins and get the energy to do it all over again.
