For an eye-catching edible corporate gift or favor, try the confections whipped up by Crème-Delicious, a new boutique bakery that offers miniature cakes frosted with intricate hand-piped henna tattoo designs. Sandy Patangay, an award-winning New York-based henna artist, founded Crème-Delicious last year after receiving positive feedback from clients who had experienced her attempts at creating edible versions of her henna designs.
Cake flavors include chocolate, vanilla, red velvet, and green tea, which Patangay bakes at her downtown Manhattan cake studio. Each heart-shaped cake is covered in fondant and hand-decorated with piped frosting, sugar beads, and edible glitter dust—a process that can take more than a half hour per cake. The cakes are then placed in individual acrylic boxes and wrapped with satin ribbon.
Each confection costs $20 plus tax, with a minimum order of four. Discounts are available for orders of more than 100. Orders placed within New York are hand-delivered; orders for clients outside of the city are shipped via UPS next-day air.
