Citytv's Festival Schmooze, held annually under a tent on the grounds of the CHUM Television building (CHUM owns Citytv) during the Toronto International Film Festival, has a single goal: to promote networking among the attendees. CHUM's army of entertainment executives always turns out in force, and invitations are sent to a who's who of producers, actors, and writers in town for the festival. With this in mind, Francine Socket, CHUM's director of events, created an inviting, cosy atmosphere with subtle floral designs from Hedge Flower Studios, lounge furniture from Contemporary Furniture Rentals, and buffet stations catered by Il Fornello.
A separate reception area with access to a second-floor balcony was established inside the building in the greenroom for MuchMusic, CHUM's 24-hour music station. The decor at the party, sponsored by Volkswagen, included ceiling-suspended lit backdrops behind the bar with fresh flower stems affixed to the surface of the panels.
Celebrity guests included Jennifer Tilly, Chloe Sevigny, Arsinee Khanjian, Atom Egoyan, Adam Brody, and Danny Aiello.
