BiZBash held its fifth annual New York Event Style Awards at Pacha on April 5. Six hundred planners and vendors in the event industry attended to find out the award winners in 17 categories and to honor Paul Wilmot of Paul Wilmot Communications and Bentley Meeker of Bentley Meeker Lighting & Staging, who were inducted into the BiZBash Hall of Fame.
Pacha is a Spanish word meaning "to live like a king," and the club was transformed into a lavish, decadent experience to mimic the definition of the venue's name. Rafi Mercado of House of Mercado dressed 25 performers in costumes ranging from jeweled catsuits to roaming stilt-walkers adorned with multi-colored feathers, all intricately painted by The Body of Art. BONGARBIZ Acts & Artists Network Inc. stationed performers dressed in white butterfly costumes at the front door to greet guests.
Decor included cascading cherry blossom arrangements from Design Fusion, ice sculptures from Okamoto Studio - New York Ice Sculpture, an Xbox gaming lounge lit in the Xbox signature green, and an elaborate ice cream installation provided by MaggieMoo's Ice Cream & Treatery.
Catering by Benjamin Catering, CEO Group, and Sebastians Fisher & Levy offered a plethora of various hors d'oeuvres on Pacha's four levels that added to the theme of overabundance. Rentals to support the event were provided by Something Different Party Rental. The awards show, produced by PBG Event Production, was broadcast on nine 50" plasma screens that hung on all levels of the club, and a DJ provided by Memories in Motion played music reminiscent of the original Pacha in Ibiza, Spain. The winners received the coveted B-shaped award designed by Academy Engraving. The event was photographed by Brightroom Inc. and was videotaped by Ashod Kassabian. Coat checking staffing was provided by Eye5, water was provided by Sei Water, and the rich gold and burgundy invitations for the event were designed by Alpine Creative Group Inc.
