Perched atop a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the newly renovated Hotel Shangri-La will reopen in December after a $30 million makeover. Upgrades took two years to complete, and include eco-friendly initiatives such as low-flow toilets, a solar-heated pool, and all-natural products in the bathrooms.
Meeting spaces in the hotel include a 300-square-foot rooftop meeting room with ocean views and high-end audiovisual equipment, plus a 700-square-foot terrace with views of downtown and the Pacific Ocean. Alternatively, a penthouse suite is appropriate for meetings.
Each guest room is nonsmoking and offers an ocean view. Other hotel amenities include a lush courtyard with an elevated pool and cabanas, a restaurant overlooking the pool, and a rooftop bar.
The hotel first opened in 1939, and Art Deco details have been preserved within its new, contemporary decor.
