Since 2005, Fox has introduced its fall season with the same eco-friendly casino-theme event. While Fox creative service’s Karin Pofsky, who planned the 2014 Fox Fall Eco-Casino party on September 9 and has worked on the event in the past, admits the greening of the event has become less difficult, that wasn’t always the case.
“I think when we originally started doing this event years ago, it was probably one of the first events for Fox, and probably in the industry, that focused on producing a big Hollywood event in a responsible and sustainable manner,” Pofsky said. “Now, all of our events have that focus and we try to work with only vendors and venues that work in an eco-friendly, sustainable fashion. What has changed a bit is that it’s gotten significantly easier to produce events this way. It used to be a big struggle with every vendor and every venue to do events this way but now its pretty much second nature for us and for most of the people that we work with.”
Still, considering the experience that the team at Fox has logged when it comes to producing an eco-friendly event, for planners looking to move to more sustainable gatherings, it's interesting to see at how the network's team leveraged the decor and venue—the Bungalow in Santa Monica—to achieve green results for the latest iteration of the annual event.
