Edmonton Convention Centre recently launched its Responsible Meetings Program in response to growing demand from event planners and attendees for more environmentally responsible options. This new program provides incentives for clients who reduce single-use items; opt-in to donation programs; purchase carbon offsets; and select plant-based menu options such as scrambled tofu, barbecue pulled jackfruit, and crispy avocado cones (pictured).

Edmonton mainstay A Cappella Catering Co. recently underwent a brand makeover, freshening up its look after almost 30 years in business. One of the company’s newer additions, Curbside Food Truck has become a popular option for weddings and larger events in the area, and as an extension of the catering company is able to feed as many as 120 people per hour with an array of items such as smoked beef brisket sandwiches, fish tacos, and mac and cheese.

Special Event Rentals’ new collection of gold-trimmed Plexi bars ($225) and bar backs ($275) can be customized with decals including company logos or a monogram. Prices are based on a one-day rate, which includes pickup the day before from the Edmonton showroom and drop-off the day after the event; delivery is available for an additional fee.
