New Yorkville Chocolate Shop to Double as Event Space

Moroco Chocolat, a new sweet shop and dining space, is scheduled to open in Yorkville—the primary TIFF stomping ground—next week. According to general manager Vince Antonacci, the shop's design scheme includes a giant crystal chandelier, loveseats studded with Swarovski crystals, and a deep purple-and-black colour palette in the main dining room. Along with truffles, drinking chocolate, and French macarons, Moroco will offer a small menu of salads and sandwiches, as well as champagne by the glass. The 3,600-square-foot space will be available for private events and can hold as many as 130 for receptions; a 20-seat private space with audiovisual equipment can be booked for small screenings or meetings.
