Ultra Supper Club is closing its doors January 1 to undergo a monthlong renovation that will include a new look, new name, and a new menu, Ink Entertainment announced today. "After five years, we feel it's time to push boundaries, preen our feathers and continue to evolve at the peak of our success," co-owner Charles Khabouth said in a statement. "The newly designed space will be demure yet boastful, approachable with a bold and cheeky twist."
The award-winning firm munge//leung: design associates is overseeing the transformation of the Queen Street supper club—a popular spot for celebrity parties during the annual Toronto International Film Festival. Ink reports that the new space will have "a simple, colourful, and playful ambience" and will feature avant-garde furniture from the design firm Castor.
In addition to the interior redesign, executive chef Chris Zielinski is also revamping the menu and will replace the current French-Asian fare with a new shared-plate menu featuring dishes like kobe beef salad rolls, red snapper chips, and potato and edamame soup. The venue's new name will be announced in the new year.
