Located for the past 23 years in a former knitting mill at 250 the Esplanade, the Wine Establishment has added a new wine cellar design centre—available for corporate events and private tastings—to its retail space.
The design centre, formerly part of the retail showroom, showcases a variety of options for wine racking, a display niche for showing off glassware, a custom solid-slab mahogany tasting table, a specially designed wine cellar entry door, cataloguing software, and an enomatic wine dispensing system.
“When clients want a wine cellar, they want to touch and feel the space,” said Laird Kay, director of architectural services with the Wine Establishment Contractors Ltd. “In this space we can talk about options for everything from racking to climate control.”
The design centre can be booked in conjunction with the retail showroom for board meetings and food and wine tastings, said director Cindy Wilkes. The entire venue can accommodate groups of 24 for a seated event or as many as 65 for a reception. A courtyard can also be booked for select events, and the Wine Establishment can organize tastings off site in office locations.
