Here's a look at new San Diego eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this fall. The new and renovated San Diego venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fund-raisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, teambuilding activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

Lola 55 debuted in August. The modern Mexican eatery located on the ground floor of IDEA1 building in East Village specializes in handcrafted tacos and specialty cocktails. The space measures 3,200 square feet and accommodates 117 seated or 140 standing.

San Diego’s Bayfront is home to the new InterContinental San Diego. The 18-story, 400-room luxury hotel opened in September with 95,000 square feet of flexible meeting space featuring natural light in every room. A few notable spaces include the Pacific Ballroom at 12,000 square feet with room for 1,500 guests and a 60,000-square-foot outdoor space that includes a view of the bay and Lane Field Park.

Downtown’s Bristol Hotel completed a renovation with mid-century touches throughout the 114-room hotel in July. The two meeting spaces include City Scene at 1,215 square feet with space for 50 guests and the Broadway room, which features an adjoining bar in its 1,176 square feet with capacity for 147 guests.

Opened in July in the Gaslamp Quarter, STK San Diego specializes in steak and New American cuisine. The 8,300-square-foot concept from the One Group is located at the Andaz Hotel and includes a mezzanine lounge and courtyard. Buyouts and private dining are available. The space seats 236 or holds 345 for receptions.

El Jardin swung open its doors in July. The Liberty Station restaurant helmed by Top Chef Mexico chef Claudette Wilkins features regional Mexican cuisine. The interior space is 2,874 square feet with room for 50 seated guests or 70 standing, plus an additional 5,000 square feet at the adjoining outdoor patio with capacity for 100 seated or 250 standing.

Coronado’s Maretalia Ristorante completed a renovation in September. Highlights of the seafood restaurant's menu include an extensive raw bar, a chef’s kitchen, an updated dining room, and a revamped food and beverage program. The second-floor restaurant encompasses 6,500 square feet and accommodates 200 seated guests or 275 standing. Private dining or full buyouts are available.

Theater Box Entertainment Complex is Gaslamp’s newest venue. Opened in October, the multi-use building encompasses TCL Chinese Theatre, Sugar Factory American Brasserie, and the Chocolate Lounge in its 73,000-square-foot building. TCL Chinese Theatre is located on the second story and boasts eight luxury theaters featuring plush, reclining seats to accommodate 38 to 72 guests per theater. On the street level is Chocolate Lounge, a 3,000-square-foot eatery featuring chocolate dishes that accommodates as many as 87 seated guests. Also on the street level is Sugar Factory American Brasserie, an all day restaurant with a 14,000-square-foot footprint and room for 186 seated guests.

The Coronado landing is home to El Roy’s Tequila Bar & Kitchen. Open since August, the restaurant specializes in inventive Mexican cuisine. The 5,700-square-foot indoor-outdoor waterfront space can accommodate 200 seated guests or 275 standing.

Hidden Fish in the Convoy District opened in September. The omakase-only concept offers a 12-piece sushi dinner served in 30 minutes or a premium version in 90 minutes. The intimate 1,000-square-foot venue features warm wood furnishing and a wraparound bar. Capacity for the space is 13 seated or 20 standing.

Old Town is home to Tahona, a mezcal tasting room and restaurant that opened in October. Found next to the historic Cemetery of El Campo Santo, the restaurant offers more than 120 varieties of mezcal plus a menu with Oaxaca influences. The 2,000-square-foot space seats about 50 guests.
