Here's a look at Atlanta's new spaces open for events this spring. The new and renovated Atlanta venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings and more.
A note regarding COVID-19: At BizBash, we're still committed to bringing you ideas and inspiration for when (yes, when!) events are back up and running. Some of the venues listed here may not yet be available for hosting events due to the pandemic, or they may be operating at a lower capacity.
The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel

Opened in Buckhead in February is The Kimpton Sylvan Hotel, which evokes the vibe of a Beverly Hills haunt with its sleek yet lively midcentury-modern design. Taking over a 1950s residential building, the boutique hotel boasts 217 guest rooms; a rooftop bar, St. Julep, with sweeping views of the city's skyline; a swanky, supper club-style restaurant named The Betty, which features a 22-seat private dining room available for social and corporate events; and an outdoor, garden party-inspired restaurant, Willow Bar, restaurant right off the lobby, which offers ample covered and open seating for gathering alfresco, in addition to its hearty list of curated cocktails and small plates. To top it all off, the property includes more than 4,200 square feet of stylish, flexible event space that can accommodate up to 225 guests. The Camellia ballroom is primed for fundraisers, galas, receptions and more with its 1,900 square feet and sophisticated design, while the 683-square-foot Gingko room (pictured here) and 358-square-foot Dogwood can each hold 25 conference style for corporate meetings.

Hotel Colee

From Woodbine Development Corporation and Practice Hospitality comes Hotel Colee, the newest Autograph Collection Hotel to pop up in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood as of December. The hotel's interiors, outfitted by Andrew Alford Creative, are cheerful with a mixture of pastels, energetic prints and vibrant hues taking over every inch of the property—ensuring plenty of photo ops for visitors. Amid the 286-room, 12-floor property is 7,500 square feet of meeting and event space to accommodate an array of events, from micro-weddings to corporate occasions. The hotel's largest event space, the Show Room, offers 4,005 square feet to host 256 guests reception style or 250 banquet style. For those in need of a quaint yet inspiring spot to host a corporate meeting or breakout session, Hotel Colee's Strategize Room (529 square feet) and Spotlight room (805 square feet) allow for just that. Other, more casual places to meet with co-workers on-site include the property's lobby bar and recently updated rooftop bar Whiskey Blue, which offers views of Atlanta's skyline in addition to a slew of hand-crafted cocktails.

42West Entertainment Group

Opening its doors on Atlanta's Westside next month, event venue 42West Entertainment Group is the brainchild of former Atlanta Hawks star Kevin Willis and local event planner Lauren Pelissier. Designed to give back to the community, each event held at the soon-to-open venue will include a charity component with multiple nonprofits to choose from as beneficiaries, with the end goal that the venue's paid events will act as a funding stream so that Atlanta's nonprofits can use the space at no charge. A seemingly blank canvas with an industrial-modern structure and foundational design across 9,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, 42West is prepared to host events of all shapes and sizes, from film and television premieres and filming, product launches, corporate functions, photo shoots and social events, among others. The venue's 6,000-square-foot interior can hold 550 guests for receptions, 450 seated guests and 400 for conference-style gatherings. Outdoors, 3,000-square-feet of space can accommodate 250 guests reception style, 150 seated and 100 in a lounge setting. Other notable features of the venue include a green room, private offices, Wi-Fi throughout, an HVAC air filtration system for COVID-19 safety and plenty of valet- and self-parking. Additionally, for extra help, event organizers can tap the venue's on-site event designer and event manager. Planners can also utilize 42 West's rentals, which include black and copper metal chairs (pictured here), 60-inch round dining tables that seat eight to 10 guests, 36-inch high-boy tables, 6-foot rectangular tables and more.

Wylie Hotel

Rolling out the welcome mat this month in Old Fourth Ward, Wylie Hotel will take over Atlanta's historic Ponce de Leon Building, which was built in 1929 and has faced closure due to the Great Depression and housed many notable businesses since, including the Garner-Wallace Hotel, the original Mrs. P’s Tea Room (known as Atlanta’s first openly LGBTQ-friendly bar from the 1950s) and the 551 Ponce de Leon Hotel, among others. The property's recent revival doesn't shy away from its history but rather incorporates it, with its welcoming environs (the property is nicknamed "The Friendly Hotel"), an outdoor terrace, sunroom and restaurant, appropriately named Mrs. P’s Bar & Kitchen and serving up Southern dishes starting in June. Local design firm Pixel Design Co. led point on the 111-room boutique hotel's refreshed, midcentury look. Ideal for small-scale events, the property will house informal meeting space; although, full buyouts are available for larger gatherings.
