1. Opened in October in South Boston, KO Catering and Pies is the brick-and-mortar version of the KO food truck parked in Fort Point. The restaurant offers authentic Australian favorites, including individual meat pies that cost less than $6 each. Other items include Vegemite on toast, spicy shrimp, and sausage rolls. KO delivers virtually anywhere in Boston; there is no delivery charge for orders over $120. Catering menus are also available and range from canapé parties to multiple-course tasting menus. The average cost per person for their “Aussie ready to eat” menu, which includes meat pies and sides, is $13 per person for 10 to 200 guests.
2. Pizzeria Posto, a warmly lit neighborhood restaurant serving Neapolitan pizza in Davis Square, is prepping to launch Boston’s first mobile wood-fired pizzeria and Tuscan grill in the coming months. Dubbed Posto Mobile, the custom mobile Italian wood-burning oven offers pizza cooked on site in front of guests. Posto’s extensive pizza menu includes individual 12-inch pizzas made with house-made mozzarella and runs the gamut from simple margherita to honey-crisp apple and Gorgonzola crema, to pork sopressata with spicy Tuscan peppers.
