* INCOMING *

1. MACY’S PARADE UPDATE: From senior editor Anna Sekula: This year Amy Kule, the new executive producer of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and July 4 Fireworks, looked to refresh the iconic annual events and create more personal experiences by introducing a design contest and picnic event. From our Q&A with Kule: "What we do is so big on a national scale that my hope is to be able to bring it to the local consumer. Sometimes when you do something so big it feels out of touch, but the people who made the parade the parade and the fireworks the fireworks are the people that tune in. If we can talk specifically to as many people as possible on a personal level, to me that's really important."

2. OPENING THE GUCCI MUSEUM: The New York Times stopped by the festivities in Florence Monday night: “A luxury goods company might be tempting fate, given the current political mood in Italy, by opening a monumental tribute to itself, with a lavish party, not a slingshot’s throw from the site where Michelangelo’s statue of David stood for more than three centuries.” Pics of the bash and its two X-shaped tables:

3. TASTING ADVICE: Gothamist lists six tips for enjoying large food events like this weekend's New York City Wine & Food Festival.
