Unlike the outdoor rally at Grant Park in 2008, the President's election-night gathering in Chicago will take place inside the McCormick Place convention center, with tickets required for all attendees. Although there's been some speculation that an open-air affair could still arise, tonight's rainy weather forecast makes it less likely. Boston.com: "[W]ith a razor-thin margin in national and swing-state polls, supporters may have to wait until the wee hours of the morning or even until Wednesday to find out if Obama wins or loses. That is clearly not a scenario conducive to a massive outdoor gathering."

BOSTON'S ELECTION NIGHT SECURITY: Boston.com: "Streets will be closed on the South Boston waterfront on Tuesday beginning at 6 p.m. while former Governor Mitt Romney holds his election night event at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, said the city of Boston and the South Boston Seaport Transportation Management Association...The U.S. Secret Service started to secure the convention center on Monday, according to the Seaport TMA." http://bo.st/TtWn0q
3. RALLY FEES: In an unusual move, the Romney campaign is charging journalists and news organizations for access to its headquarters on election night. According to MassLive.Com, fees run “anywhere from $75 for a chair in the ballroom to $1,020 for permission to use the media filing center. NEW YORK: After canceling its Library Lions gala in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the New York Public Library is donating the food that would have been used for the fund-raiser to 600 residents of Staten Island.
ORLANDO: Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center opens its interactive holiday exhibit, "Ice!," November 10. The theme this year is "Merry Madagascar," featuring characters from the animated movie carved out of ice. There are also four two-story ice slides.
WASHINGTON: Chef José Andrés of Oyamel Cocina Mexicana is offering guests an election-night special tonight in the restaurant’s private dining room. The election will be broadcast on TVs in the restaurant and red and blue cocktails will be available.
