1. AIRPORT LOUNGES: The exclusive venues within airports are more popular than ever, even popping up outside of airports. New York Times: "Private lounges, mainly tailored for business travelers seeking a respite from on-the-road commotion, are also turning up outside airports — sometimes as temporary operations during major travel events. Chase and Visa, for example, operated a 'V.I.P. Lounge' for cardholders last summer during the London Olympics. American Express runs premium lounges for platinum card members in places like the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and recently opened a business lounge at the sprawling Las Vegas Convention Center." http://nyti.ms/12JRRUy
2. DESIGNS TO AVOID: In his blog, designer Preston Bailey singles out five design elements that he would like to retire because they are played out or have been replaced by new technology. Sorry, all of you candle lovers. "They are romantic and cast a gorgeous glow, but did I tell you about the time wax spilled on a bride’s dress?" http://bit.ly/ZwwVJd
3. SOCIAL SXSW: Someone tweets about South by Southwest about once every four seconds. What are the most popular subjects fans are chatting about on social media? Good news, sponsors: about 40 percent say the parties. An infographic on Mashable breaks down the buzz: http://on.mash.to/14OPA5V
