1. DISAPPOINTING START TO COACHELLA: The opening weekend of Coachella failed to deliver an iconic moment like last year's 2Pac hologram. At one point, fans heard a new Daft Punk song coming from a small Gobi tent and rushed toward it, hoping for a surprise concert. It turned out to be a commercial for the group's new record. The Hollywood Reporter: "The come-down kept with the day's theme: a promise of something that could be legendary, but ultimately felt somewhat disappointing." http://bit.ly/14lhrzW
2. CREATING SOCIAL CONFERENCES: "Social" is a big conference buzzword, but how social are most conferences, even as they try to teach the principle? Entertainment Weekly: "To her credit, Wilson didn’t go the safe route. Most of her jokes fell on the absurdist side of the comedy spectrum rather than the conventional, Poconos-style yuks that hosts generally adopt for these occasions." http://bit.ly/103yeGl
4. WHERE'S WALDO AT THE MASTERS: Want to create viral buzz for your event? A Tumblr called Waldo at the Masters made a Where's Waldo? tribute, placing the children's book icon in several screen grabs of the sports tournament, which ended Sunday. Check it out on USA Today: http://usat.ly/ZQkvmf
