1. VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS TAKE OVER BROOKLYN: MTV's Video Music Awards took place in Brooklyn's Barclays Center—and featured plenty of star power with Justin Timberlake and a reunion of 'NSync, a kinky duet between Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke, and an opening number from Lady Gaga—but producers introduced a venue change for the closing performance: Katy Perry singing in a boxing ring set up at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. http://bit.ly/19TQo1F

3. GM BACK AS SUPER BOWL ADVERTISER: General Motors will return as a Super Bowl advertiser after bowing out for the 2013 game citing the costs of the TV spots, reportedly around $3.8 for a 30-second spot. Variety: "General Motors is likely to be just one of many car advertisers in the Big Game. Over the past three years, car makers have emerged as perhaps the biggest supporters of the event,  out-muscling perennials like Anheuser Busch InBev, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola. In 2013, Ford’s Lincoln-Mercury, Hyundai, Kia, Chrysler, Audi of America, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and Volkswagen all ran at least one commercial during the Super Bowl." http://bit.ly/15hndAY
