Tucked inside a 19th-century Back Bay brownstone, Townhouse is a private dining club now available for buyout. Anchoring the corner of Dartmouth and Newbury streets, the space is accessed through an unmarked entrance reminiscent of a Prohibition-era speakeasy. It is adjacent to the Met Back Bay restaurant, and serves as the venue's banquet space.
The club accommodates 50 people for a cocktail reception and 30 for a seated meal. Signature offerings include ham and cheese boards, tuna and salmon tartare, short rib tacos, and Kobe beef sliders. Before an event, guests can congregate in the semiprivate library bar, for oversize renditions of classic cocktails. The library can be blocked off with cocktail stations for additional privacy.
Townhouse includes a projector, a large-screen TV, a DVD player, and a dedicated sound system. The crimson-walled room is dotted with plush Chesterfield sofas and leopard-print rugs. A working fireplace adds an intimate touch. Townhouse is helmed by noted Boston restaurateur Kathy Sidell Trustman, known for her local empire of Met restaurants.
