Big Brothers Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay hosted its annual "Big Night" fund-raiser on February 7. As in past years, the evening used experiential speeches and storytelling to highlight the nonprofit's cause, but this year's event had a brand-new—yet throwback—theme: the 1990s.
The entertainment fit into the evening's decade of honor. Planners booked two popular '90 acts, Shaggy and the Goo Goo Dolls, to perform. Neon slap bracelets served as V.I.P. wrist bands, and nostalgic snacks from the Catered Affair included red velvet whoopie pies and cocktails garnished with Pop Rocks. In the invitation, guests were asked to "rock a bold pallet," and come dressed in bright hues.
The event raised $1.8 million, surpassing its fund-raising goal of $1.6 million. Here's a peek inside the colorful night.
