Here's a closer look at Denver's newest eateries, drinking spots, hotels, conference areas, private rooms, and other spaces available for events this summer. The new and renovated Denver venues are available for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, outdoor functions, business dinners, team-building activities, conferences, meetings, and more.

The Gallery Sportsman's Club and Range

For a unique group experience, The Gallery Sportsman's Club and Range opened in April. The 20,000-square-foot venue is part restaurant, part bar, and part shooting range (rest assured that guests are not permitted to enter the range after drinking alcohol). There are two indoor firing ranges, with 15 lanes across two bays. Also on-site is a 10-seat conference room with a TV for presentations, a 1,400-square-foot flex space that overlooks the ranges, and a 1,400-square-foot training center with three TVs and full AV capabilities. When the shooting is done for the day, guests can enter the 2,000-square-foot bar and restaurant, which seats 75 people across sofa lounge areas, high-top tables, traditional seating, and the bar.

Atwell Suites Denver Airport-Tower Road

Atwell Suites Denver Airport-Tower Road opened in June about eight miles from the airport. The hotel—part of IHG Hotels and Resorts’ upper-midscale Atwell Suites brand—has 96 studio suites along with a variety of public co-working spaces with flexible seating and AV capabilities, a fitness center, and an eight-seat meeting room called The Study. The property is the second under the Atwell Suites brand; the first is located in Miami, and a third will open soon in Austin.

The Slate Denver

Open since April across from the Colorado Convention Center, the 251-room Slate Denver hotel is housed in the former educational landmark Emily Griffith Opportunity School. It boasts 4,500 square feet of meeting and event space, including the 2,050-square-foot Assembly room, a 400-square-foot boardroom, a 1,400-square-foot library, and the 1,000-square-foot Study Hall that has state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment. Also on-site is a signature restaurant called Teachers’ Lounge Food & Drink, which offers shared plates, a specialty cocktail program, and an outdoor patio for events.

Summit Assembly

Located about an hour from Denver in Silverthorne is Summit Assembly, a new 6,000-square-foot event venue that opened in April. Attached to the Bluebird Market food hall, the raw space offers 45-foot-high ceilings and a blank slate for events as large as 519 people. Two large glass garage doors can open to an exterior patio area adorned with bistro string lights. Event-friendly highlights include private restrooms, a parking garage, and on-site culinary offerings from Bluebird Market businesses. Summit Assembly is also located near the 111-room Hotel Indigo Silverthorne, which has a 12-seat boardroom for meetings and events.

The Pad Silverthorne

Also new in Silverthorne is The Pad, which opened in March as Colorado's first boutique hotel-hostel combo. Centrally located along the Blue River in the heart of Colorado ski country, the property offers rooms ranging from affordable shared bunk experiences to more luxury private rooms with mountain views. Art from local artists and floor-to-ceiling windows are located throughout the property, which has multiple event venues, including a third-floor dedicated indoor space, plus a manicured lawn for outdoor gatherings. A rooftop bar, which can also be rented for events, offers panoramic views of three mountain ranges, along with 26 taps and Summit County’s first draught craft cocktail program.

The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch

Looking for a memorable team getaway? The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch in Avon, Colo.—located about two hours from Denver—reopened this month after a multimillion-dollar renovation. The hotel has 15,000 square feet of interior event space, along with 18,000 square feet of exterior space. An elegant 7,000-square-foot ballroom (pictured) can be divided into three rooms, and can hold a total of 600 for receptions or 400 for seated banquets. There’s also a boardroom that seats 15, along with a terrace that holds 350 for receptions and other event-friendly spaces. The hotel's event team can organize customized catering, group wellness activities, full audiovisual services, and team-building experiences that benefit the Beaver Creek community. On-site restaurants include Wyld, which serves local Colorado cuisine, as well as sushi restaurant Sakaba, gastropub Buffalos, and more. Also on-site? The cozy, three-story Great Room that often features live music, along with fully remodeled guest rooms and a refreshed spa. The new design was led by Simon Hamui of Simon Hamui Design Studio.

Fuel & Iron Bar

Fuel & Iron Bar, a bar and community gathering space, opened in Denver in April. The venue serves as the Mile High City's outpost of the Fuel & Iron Project, which celebrates the history, culture, cuisine, and vitality of Pueblo, Colo. It features Pueblo-inspired pub food, craft cocktails, and beer in a casual, approachable environment filled with exposed brick and neon signage. The bar hosts regular public events and concerts, and can be rented out for private gatherings. A second location, called the Fuel & Iron Food Hall, is expected to open in Pueblo in the fall.
