The Las Vegas Hospitality Association has named its 2010 board of directors, and Stacey Purcell, national sales manager for Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment, is the president of the group, a tourism industry organization with close to 500 members. Purcell said her goals as president are to provide “even more” value to the membership, meaningful networking opportunities, and money for scholarships. “It’s truly an honor to be leading such a powerful and professional hospitality industry group,” Purcell said in an announcement.
The association's incoming board also includes chairwoman Linda Andrew Ness, national sales director for Freeman Audio Visual Solutions; president-elect J. J. Wills, national sales manager for Las Vegas Meetings by Harrah’s Entertainment; first vice president for membership and marketing Lynda Richardson, director of sales at Tropicana Las Vegas; second vice president for meetings Bryan Kroten, director of marketing at Maverick Aviation Group; secretary Julie Holzer Pazina, national sales manager at Edlen Electrical Exhibition Services; treasurer Deanna Burgess, associate director of sales at Mandalay Bay; parliamentarian Mary Thomas of MKT Consultants; plus various directors.
Purcell began her career with Harrah's Entertainment 19 years ago, when she started in catering at Caesars Palace, progressed to leisure sales, and then moved to convention sales. In 2005, she became national sales manager for the Rio All-Suite Hotel, then moved into the role of national sales manager for Bally's and Paris in 2008. Purcell has been a board member with the Las Vegas Hospitality Association since 2005.
