A growing number of hotels offer options for gambling-averse groups. Here's a sampling of three upscale stays to try.
1. The Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas opened in March 2008 without a casino in the building. The 64-story golden tower houses 1,232 suites and 50 penthouse suites, all of which feature floor-to-ceiling windows. The 2,460 square feet of function space include a 1,150-square-foot meeting room, another 960-square-foot meeting room, and the signature 350-square-foot Trump Boardroom.
2. Palms Place Condo Hotel and Spa opened in the spring of 2008 with 599 condominium suites, from large studios to one- and two-bedroom suites and luxe penthouses. The 50,000-square-foot pool and spa sits amid lush landscaping and gardens, and became the first Vegas property to offer a Turkish bath. For those who do wish to gamble, guests have access to the Palms casino via an elevated, enclosed moving walkway.
3. Vdara, a nongaming hotel at the CityCenter complex, is scheduled to open in late 2009. The property will feature more than 10,000 square feet of ground-floor meeting space, a 4,000-square-foot ballroom, three smaller meeting spaces, an executive ballroom, and pre-function space. Guest rooms will have open floor plans with kitchenettes, plus sweeping views of the city and mountains. Vdara’s pool and lounge will be available for groups of as many as 1,500, and its restaurant will feature private dining for 14.
