Memorial Day weekend saw another big Las Vegas venue opening. Encore Beach Club, Surrender Nightclub, and Switch restaurant together offer day-to-night entertaining options at the Encore. The venues measure 60,000 square feet in all and have a total capacity of 2,600 guests; buyouts are available. Eight private bungalows, 26 private cabanas, 80 chaise lounges, 12 daybeds, 10 deck lounge areas, six gaming pavilion lounges, and 19 water lily-like areas make up the Beach Club seating. There are 24 additional seating areas inside Surrender. Minimums for reserved seats range from $150 for chaises to $5,000 for a bungalow.
At Encore Beach Club, 40-foot palm trees surround three tiered pools, daybeds with private safes, and cabanas outfitted with refrigerators and flat-screen televisions. White wicker, white marble tabletops, orange cushions, white wood, and red drapery round out the look.
Eight furnished bungalows spread across two stories and provide views of the Strip, hot tubs, showers, and individual climate controls. Oversize lily pad pool loungers rest in shallow water, and a gaming pavilion has eight tables including blackjack and craps. Signature drinks include a selection of frozen cocktails and boozy lemonades. The space offers its own grill available to all guests, while cabana and bungalow guests can sample fare from executive chef René Lenger of Switch. A daytime menu features salads, sandwiches, wraps, and barbecue items served in the restaurant’s main dining room and on the new 1,200-square foot patio.
The nighttime experience is Surrender, a 5,000-square-foot club that opens up to the surrounding area. Steve Aoki is the resident DJ and music director. Lighting and sound firm John Lyons Systems developed a DJ booth and audio system designed to withstand the elements; a glass DJ booth has technology that can provide individual soundtracks for the nightclub, Encore Beach Club, or the entire venue. Surrender's interior pops with bright yellow tufted leather banquettes, orange silk drapery, espresso hardwood and stainless steel floors, and leopard print carpets.
