The new Crown Theater and Nightclub inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino has a twofold focus of live music and nightlife, and has already hosted some of Las Vegas's big concerts since its soft opening in late May. The 11,000-square-foot venue has a 50-foot stage and top-end sound and lighting systems. Despite the venue's substantial size, the feel is meant to be intimate.
The venue is available for buyouts, with a capacity of 999 for standing-room-only events. For entertaining special clients or groups, seating is available in 41 V.I.P. booths.
The space, which comes from the former operators of the Viper Room in Los Angeles, has a colorful history. When it opened as Club Rio in 1995, it was billed as the first large nightclub to open inside a hotel in Las Vegas. Club Rio brought acts over the years, including the Beach Boys, Sammy Hager, Paula Abdul, Montell Jordan, and C&C Music Factory. When Club Rio closed in 2006, the space became Club 3121 and offered two weekly shows headlined by Prince. ND's Fuego took over the space early in 2009 and quickly became known as the city's salsa venue before it went bankrupt and closed.
