This week's roundup includes Swarovski's live-streamed video booth in New York and the brand's Oscars stage proscenium created with 45 million crystals in Los Angeles, an edible garden from Sweet Guilt at the South Beach Wine & Food Festival, and Rolex's virtual windows depicting Swiss mountains at its Oscars green room in Los Angeles.

To celebrate the Oscars on Sunday, Swarovski hosted “Red Carpet Moments: Sparkle Like the Stars in Times Square” at its flagship store. The event featured a silver carpet entrance and a video booth that invited guests to take 15-second video clips against a crystal backdrop. The videos were live streamed on a digital billboard above the store. The jewelry brand partnered with the Gathery on the event concepts and execution.

The event featured a miniature display of a past Oscars stage created with Swarovski crystals.

Keeping with the theme, the event served guests silver popcorn.

The 90th Academy Awards took place Sunday at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. Production designer Derek McLane used a jaw-hopping 45 million Swarovski crystals in this year’s stage design—which is 40 times more crystals than the past 10 years combined. The design required more than 3,250 hours to fabricate over four weeks, and weighed 15,500 pounds. This year marks the 11th year that sponsor Swarovski has illuminated the Oscars stage.

Mercedes-Benz held its annual viewing party on Sunday at the Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills. The event, which was designed and produced by Sterling Social, featured a branded wall where guests could vote for their picks for Best Picture.

Rolex sponsored the Academy Awards green room for the third year, and designed the decor to celebrate the brand’s Swiss heritage. The 100-square-foot space, which was located backstage at the Dolby Theatre, had virtual windows that looked out on the Matterhorn and other snowy mountains.

The 17th annual Food Network & Cooking Channel’s South Beach Wine & Food Festival took place February 21 to 25 at venues in South Beach and Fort Lauderdale. An edible garden by Sweet Guilt allowed attendees to pick floral treats at Sweet-Moves: Late-Night Desserts & Dancing hosted by chef Bobby Flay and his daughter, Sophie. The event took place at Loews Miami Beach Hotel.

At the Beachside BBQ, Operation BBQ Relief provided a twist on the chocolate fountain with a barbecue sauce fountain.

At the festival’s Grand Tasting, La Croix showcased a branded photo backdrop created with packages of the flavored seltzer. The photo op included oversize fruit props.

Held in NeueHouse Hollywood in February, the Makers Conference drew advocates for women’s rights from the tech, entertainment, business, and nonprofit fields. The 2018 edition featured discussions on the Time’s Up movement, the power of creating a collective group, and a speech by Hillary Clinton. Speakers—including executive producer of Divided States of Women at Vox Media Liz Plank (left) and Emmy-winning screenwriter Lena Waithe—held discussions underneath a stage backdrop that displayed the conference’s theme of “Raise Your Voice.”
