Editor's note: We originally published this Discovery in February, but we thought event planners might find this resource especially helpful now, in light of recent events.
If you look close enough, you can tell she's breathing. Ever since winning the National Statue of Liberty Look-Alike Contest in 1986, Jennifer Stewart has been wow-ing tourists and New Yorkers by donning her oxidized copper-colored robe and body paint, and standing perfectly still for 20 minutes at a time. Stewart--aka Living Liberty--is also available for private parties, conventions and trade shows. Some of her clients include Bloomberg, MTV, Ford Motors and Kodak, and naturally, she's big with New York organizations. (The Port Authority, New York University and the Convention and Visitors' Bureau have hired her for their events.) Liberty comes at a price, however: Stewart charges $700 for the first hour, and $300 for each additional hour. If you want her to travel outside of the Big Apple she charges an additional $500 fee for each day within U.S., or $800 per day overseas.
