Summer Camp Opportunities Provide an Edge (SCOPE) reminded guests of the purpose of its winter fund-raiser--raising money to send 700 inner-city children to summer camp--with a unique serving idea. Chef Evan Ross of the China Club filled a hollowed-out log with white rock salt and used it as an hors d'oeuvres tray. The log, which looked exactly like the kind of wood campers use to fuel a fire, served as a great visual reminder of the night's summer camp theme.
