SERVICE: Your Very Own Police Escorts

E796disc 01 0319 Service Flyingsquadron 1 152
World leaders and big parades require police motorcades to escort them as they drive around town. But if your special event doesn't warrant such protection, you can still get a police escort to add some pomp and flash. Al Gonzales and Jeff Simon of the Flying Squadron are real New York City police officers who also run a police escort service that can provide as many as four officers on motorcycles for special events, TV shows and movies. They can't blare their sirens or run red lights (perks reserved for escorting real dignitaries), but they can make your procession look more important. And if you're after a 70's retro look, the Squadron can don California Highway Patrol costumes to create your own live CHiPs episode. The Flying Squadron charges $200 per escort for as many as 20 miles--the rate increases depending on additional miles.
