Chef Daniel Boulud is continuing his culinary takeover of Manhattan with his latest restaurant, DB Following classic Frenchies Cafe Boulud and Daniel, DB is billed as a "bistro moderne," and serves as Boulud's interpretation of Parisian bistros that mix creative cuisine with a casual setting--although the eclectic design (by Jeffrey Beers) isn't too casual for Boulud's uptown patrons. The electric-red front dining room (50 seats) has large images of red flowers that look like flames at first glance (left). The back dining room (54 seats, including a semiprivate area for 12) has a more stately feel, with pistachio green walls and dark wood accents. A small bar area that connects the two rooms also seats 12. (Read about DB's opening party...) --Chad Kaydo
