Let the Fashion Week Parties Begin!

The 7th on Sixth fashion shows don't officially start until Friday, but there's no stopping the frock flock from its parties. The festivities unofficially started on Wednesday. The biggest events were probably two competing anniversary parties: Max Mara's started with cocktails at its store and moved to dinner at the Puck Building; Emanuel Ungaro celebrated at the 69th Regiment Armory, with event management by Bureau Betak, catering by Cafiero Lussier and PR by Nadine Johnson Inc. (A Harper's Bazaar editor told the Times she'd have dinner at Max Mara, then "boogie the night away at Ungaro," and hopefully change clothes between them.)

Other Tuesday fashion-related events:
  • Bulgari launched its Lucea jewelry collection, with entertainment by DJ Tracy Young (a Madonna protege of sorts) at the very cool, very raw Eyebeam Atelier in Chelsea. (More about Eyebeam...)

  • Elle Girl magazine's launch party took over the Roxy, with event production and PR by Swell Productions and teeny-bopper friendly decor by Avi Adler.

  • Guy mag GQ and Bacardi Limon hosted an MTV Video Music Award-related party at Saci for nominee Nikka Costa, with decor by Musters & Company.

  • Marith? & Francois Girbaud took guests to a tourist-friendly cafe on the fifth floor of the Doubletree Guest Suites New York City to unveil its new billboard outside the hotel. Quinto & Company took care of the event production and PR, and new R&B act Bilal performed.
