Fiamma, the soon-to-open Italian restaurant from Steve Hanson's B.R. Guest Inc., will host Citymeals-on-Wheels' Young Professionals benefit tasting event on Thursday, January 31. This is the public's first opportunity to preview the restaurant, which opens in mid-February.

The Glazier Group is hosting Monday-night wine seminars with a four-course dinner during January with their master sommelier Scott Carney at the Monkey Bar. Glazier will also open a new wine salon at Michael Jordan's The Steakhouse in Grand Central Terminal in February, with more than 1,500 wines, and room for up to 20 people for wine and food demonstrations with Carney.

Caterer and restaurateur Abigail Kirsch of Abigail Kirsch Culinary Productions has released a book on wedding food, The Bride and Groom's Menu Cookbook (Random House, 2002), which she co-authored with her sister-in-law Susan M. Greenberg. Drawing from the experience of catering thousands of weddings, Kirsch also authored The Bride and Groom's First Cookbook (Random House, 1996).

Katy Sparks, the chef of recently-closed Quilty's, is in talks to open a restaurant with Simon Oren, who recently opened French restaurant Marseilles, according to The New York Post.
