The NFL Loves NYC

The National Football League has eschewed sunny San Diego, Calif, the site of next year's Super Bowl, in favor of holding its annual owners meeting in New York. The meeting, which is usually held in the same city as the upcoming Super Bowl, will bring "32 teams and more than 100 team executives" to the city, and will "include visits to Ground Zero and a reception at the New York Stock Exchange," according to Crain's New York. And while they're here, representatives for New York and Washington, D.C., will pitch the owners to bring the big game to their respective cities in 2007. This is the second event the NFL has brought to New York. The first was the season kickoff event in Times Square with Bon Jovi.
