Overland Entertainment founder Jonathan Scharer died of cancer on September 7 at his home in Greenwich, Connecticut, at the age of 56, The New York Times reports. Scharer founded Overland in 1986 and worked on a variety of events, including Glamour's Women of the Year awards, the James Beard Foundation awards, and the U.S. Open. He was also the founding producer of Off Broadway spoof musical Forbidden Broadway, and produced concerts for acts including Blondie, Michael Feinstein, and Bob Marley.
