Inaugural Events Committee Named

President George W. Bush named Texas businesswoman Jeanne Phillips chair of the committee that will handle his inaugural events in January, according to a New York Times report. Greg Jenkins, director of the president’s advance team, will be the executive director. Other members of the committee include Mercer Reynolds and William DeWitt—both Texas businessmen—and their wives, as well as Brad Freeman, founding partner of the Freeman Spogli & Company private investment firm.
