This Week: Bastille Day and Polo Matches

Today Oral-B launches its new Pulsar toothbrush at Times Square Studios, and tonight Cipriani Wall Street is the site of the Friends of the Highline benefit. On ThursdayTravel & Leisure magazine hosts its World’s Best awards at Skylight, and Jack Spade launches its sunglasses line with a remote-controlled boat race and a performance by the band Yerba Buena on Pier 40.

Saturday, the Mercedes-Benz Polo Challenge kicks off at the Bridgehampton Polo Club. Matches continue on Saturdays through August 20. Also on Saturday, packs of hipsters head to Coney Island for the Siren Music Festival. On Sunday the French Institute/Alliance Francaise fetes Bastille Day (which was officially on Thursday) with its street fair on 60th Street between Fifth and Lexington avenues.

The Midtown International Theatre Festival opens Monday and continues through August 7, with productions at Where Eagles Dare Theater and studio, Smash Studios, and WorkShop Theater Company's Mainstage Theater, Jewel Box Theater. On Tuesday, a slew of hospitality industry organizations—including NYC & Company; the New York chapters of the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International, International Special Events Society, Meeting Professionals International, Society of Association Executives, and International Association for Exhibition Management; the New Jersey chapter of the Society of Association Executives; New York City Business Travel Association; Professional Convention Management Association; and the Society of Incentive and Travel Executives—gather at the United Nations Delegates Dining Room for the annual Summer Bash.
