Today Parlux Fragrances launches tennis star Maria Sharapova’s eponymous fragrance with a party at the Angel Orensanz Foundation for the Arts. On Thursday, the Evian Taste of Tennis comes to the W New York and benefits City Harvest, with tastings served by chefs and tennis stars.

Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day is Saturday at the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens—the tennis and music event will feature performances by Jesse McCartney, Rihanna, and the Click Five, as well as exhibition tennis matches with Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, and Lindsay Davenport.

Also Saturday, the Central Park Conservancy ends its Central Park Film Festival with a screening of Little Manhattan in Rumsey Playfield. At Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Mostly Mozart Festival ends. And at the Javits Center, the National Variety Merchandise Show starts, and then runs through Tuesday.

Sunday is the opening day of the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton. The theatrical offerings of the New York International Fringe Festival end, with final performances at various venues. And the big news is what’s happening in Miami, as MTV presents the Video Music Awards. On Monday, the U.S. Open tennis tournaments begin and continue through September 11.
