In this week's episode of The Apprentice Martha Stewart, the contestants were charged with the task of redesigning two suites in the Westin Times Square. The Primarius team won the task with their entertaining-theme suite, filled with checkers, dominoes, board games, jars of candy, and a popcorn machine to accompany movie-watching on a flat-screen TV. But Ellen Gallo, director of corporate communications for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Westin's parent company, told us it was team Matchstick's relaxation concept—dubbed "FLOW" (for leisure or work) by team member Jim—that the Westin ended up keeping to offer hotel guests.
After the episode was shot, both suites were stripped down again and combined. Most of the new space was transformed into the FLOW-inspired Renewal Suite, which features fresh white flowers, Hepa air filters, a spa bath, a wall of water, a music library, exercise area, and Starwood's signature Heavenly Bed, outfitted with a cashmere throw. (If you know of a stressed-out exec who could use a break, the suite can be booked for a cool $2,000 per night.) The remainder of the space was turned into a standard hotel guest room.
