The rumors proved true: MTV announced today that it will bring its Video Music Awards back to Radio City Music Hall on August 31. The awards were held in Miami for the past two years, and had suffered minor ratings drop (and we don't imagine Hurricane Katrina helped either). The awards hoopla—with all of the events hosted by record labels, artists, and other music industry types surrounding the show—is expected to have a $25 million economic impact on the city.
