Fashion’s big award show put on by the Council of Fashion Designers of America is adding a new element to its dinner and ceremony at the New York Public Library’s Celeste Bartos Forum, WWD reports. This year’s presentation on June 5 will include a simultaneous party—separate from the ceremony, and more casual—for 300 additional guests. (The regular seated portion will include 460.)
Swarovski will underwrite the ceremony and host the upstairs addition. The new party will have DJs, drinks, and food while the awards play live on plasma screens. The event producers at KCD plan to decorate Astor Hall as a garden party with Bryant Park chairs and floral touches, including a piece by designer Tord Boontje made from laser-cut flowers and Swarovski crystals.
