Perhaps it’s the ski lodge-like atmosphere of Aspen, or maybe it’s the promise of the Flatiron restaurant and lounge’s regular menu enhanced with some season-specific updates. (We’re guessing it’s the lodge thing.) But the space is emerging as an in-demand locale for A-list company holiday parties next month.
Event-industry giant Jack Morton is hosting one of the biggest celebrations at the space, with as many as 200 people expected December 7. Companies that booked on a Monday—such as Time Out New York on December 4—had the option of retaining the night’s regularly scheduled performer, drag queen Candice Kane. (Surprise, TONY kept her.) The placed is booked solid for much of December with professional colleagues gathering to do that merry-happy thing. Those celebrating Aspen-style include The New York Times (December 5), Reader’s Digest (December 6), Henry Holt & Company (December 11), Al Italia (December 12), and Goldman Sachs (December 14).
P.S. Mom was right when she said those investment banker-types were hard-core—while most of these companies’ parties end by 10:30 PM, that’s when the Goldman gathering starts. (And it goes until 1:30 AM.)
